About Peter Le

Raised in Kenner, Louisiana, and intimately familiar with many parts of New Orleans, Peter Le is a lens-based artist focusing on the self as a dynamic and fluid entity. This same attention to the fluid nature of identity and the delicate mechanics of the human experience informs his pursuit of medicine. His work interrogates seeks a personal reflection in every frame, regardless of who stands before the lens.

Using a personally repaired and restored Mamiya RB67 and alternative printing techniques like Van Dyke browns and cyanotypes, he captures images that encourage self-reflection, ultimately aiming to improve technically and finding himself in the process.

Some of his work is on display on the 6th floor of the Howard Tilton Memorial Library at Tulane University as a part of the photo series Endnotes: A Collection of Student Photography, for which he gave an artist talk explaining his process with cyanotypes in his project Mended.

Currently a sophomore, Peter serves as the student lab manager at Tulane University's photo lab. He is simultaneously completing a B.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography and a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He is currently gearing up to apply to medical school to eventually become a pediatrician.
